The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions directed at young women.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
